S.M.A.R.T.  is an adults-only one-hour arts & crafts workshop that features reusing and repurposing donated recyclables into functional and decorative items. We have altered cigar boxes; bound cardboard coffee sleeves and CDs into mini books; decorated composition books with duct and washi tape; cut t-shirts into warm infinity scarves, and made pins from aluminum beverage cans. Every month is a new adventure in arts, crafts, and recycling. Some possibilities this year may include DVD box recipe book, book sculpture, travel file folder, book jewelry, card making and our annual mini calendar. Program size is limited. Sign up by calling the library at 832-3466 or stopping by the Information Desk starting on the first working day before program month (example: February 1 for March 11)
All programs are subject to change. If you require an auxiliary aid or accommodation due to a disability, please call 832-3466 at least 7 days before the program date.

Welcome!

The Friends of the Library of Hawai‘i is a nonprofit organization whose primary objective is to maintain free public libraries in the State of Hawai‘i, to promote extension of library services throughout the State of Hawai‘i and to increase the facilities of the public library system of Hawai‘i by securing materials beyond the command of the ordinary library budget.
