Book Sales Near You

Kahuku Public & School Library will offer "Tuesday Night at the Library" programs in February 2012.  All programs will be conducted in the Conference Room.  Admission is free:

. February 14, 6:30 p.m. - "Love is in the Air Cook-Off: Secret Ingredient - Chocolate."  Demonstrate your culinary skills on Valentine's Day at the first Iron Chef-style cook-off.  Instead of preparing a regional dish or specific type of food, participants will be creating a dessert, entrée, or drink using the love-inspiring ingredient: chocolate.  Volunteers are needed to serve as judges. Registration is requested; sign-up at the reference desk or call the Library.  This program is for all ages.

. February 21, 6:30 p.m. - "Bigshot 'Make and Take' for Girl's Day: Hello Kitty Theme."  To celebrate Girl's Day (March 3), participants can use a die cut machine to create some cute treat boxes and a card for that special little girl.  Registration is requested; sign up at the reference desk or call the Library.  This program is suitable for ages 12 and older.

.  February 28, 6 p.m. - January 31, 6:30 p.m. - "Moneyball."  
See the movie nominated for six Academy Awards including Best Actor (Brad Pitt) and Best Picture, based on the book of the same name by Michael Lewis.  This is the true story of Oakland A's general manager Billy Beane's successful attempt to put together a competitive baseball team on a budget by employing computer-generated analysis to draft his players.  Popcorn and refreshments will be served; while supplies last.  Rated PG-13 (must be 13 or older or accompanied by an adult).
