Grants for Librarians
Grant Requests
The primary objective of the Friends of the Library of Hawai‘i is to maintain free public libraries in the State of Hawai`i, to promote extension of library services throughout the State of Hawai‘i and to increase the facilities of the public library system of Hawai‘i by securing materials beyond the command of the ordinary library budget. If you are interested in requesting funds for your library branch you may fill out our online request form. You must print the form and send it to the FLH office.

Continuing Education
Recognizing the importance of renewing skills and interests in librarianship, the Friends award grants each year for library staff to attend the American Library Association and Public Association Conferences. This allows for a flow of information to come from a national network of librarians into our island state. Funds are also available for librarians wishing to enhance their skills at workshops and seminars both on the mainland and within Hawai‘i.
